You Capture

The You Capture theme for this week is "Doorways". The doorway in this picture has more symbolic meaning that structural appeal. This is my son walking into the barn where I keep my horse. He loves being at the barn. It's his favorite place to be- the cats, the horses, the mud. He loves the brooms and the hay. I love that he loves something I am passionate about. He may outgrow it and move on to football or RC trucks or whatever, but I have moments like this.

Day 10

I love my slow cookers. This is the newest one. Project 365: {Day 10}

Project 365 Day 8

I've missed a couple days of posting, the photos are on my computer and I just have to process. :) Today's photo is from my cell phone, so nothing exceptional in quality or composition, but if there's a better way to spend a snowy morning (except for fox hunting), I don't know it.

A snowy ride.

Foto Friday & Day 7

{Project 365: Day 7} & Foto Friday Theme: Fresh
The theme for Foto Friday is "Fresh" and this photo I took yesterday popped into my head. Despite the cold, we had to get out and get the Monkey some fresh air. His energy has him running circles around me :)

Project 365 Day 4

I love dry erase boards and always have them around. My husband (boyfriend at that point) wrote this message on a board hanging on one of my boards in June 2005, days after his return from Afghanistan. I left it there. I found it today while cleaning out my guest room closet. I have a job for the board, and the message is fading and almost unreadable. I took the picture to capture it. That message has staying on that board, and in my mind, for five years. I don't need the board anymore.

Photo Challenge and Project 365

Project 365 Day 2

The only editing on this photo is to saturate the color just a tad. I'm still not great at messing with the quality on the white, but I'm gonna play with it tomorrow.

I'm also submitting this photo for the i heart faces Best Face of 2010 Challenge. While I don't think it really compares to some of their contributor's photos, I look at it and see the progress I've made over the last year with my shooting. I knew when I took it how it would come out and it was a shot I was trying to get. I couldn't have done this on purpose a year ago.

You can check out the rest of the submissions at i heart faces

Welcome to 2011

A new year, a new beginning.
